AmpIndex

As many scholars working in interdisciplinary and media-rich fields are aware, locating appropriate venues for the publication of multimedia scholarship remains a persistent challenge. Traditional academic publishing infrastructures are often not well equipped to accommodate work that moves beyond text-based formats, leaving scholars with limited pathways for disseminating research that incorporates audiovisual, interactive, or otherwise multimodal elements.

In an effort to address this gap and support the growing community of scholars engaged in multimedia research and creative-critical practice, we have developed AmpIndex: a scholarly multimodal publishing resource. This resource catalogs academic journals, university presses, digital publishing platforms, and other scholarly outlets that have demonstrated a commitment to publishing multimedia scholarship. Where possible, the database will include direct links to previously published examples, as well as information on submission guidelines, platform capabilities, and editorial policies. Our goal is to provide a practical and expansive tool that facilitates access, transparency, and visibility for scholars working at the intersection of media, research, and publication.
